Living Water

Here’s an opportunity to tie together two stories — one from the Old Testament, and one from the New. Better still, it’s an opportunity to finally understand why Jesus would use such strange language when he offered an unhappy woman “living water.” Travel with David to En Gedi first, and then drink in one of the most refreshing images of the entire Bible.

“Living Water” includes your choice of either a PowerPoint or Keynote presentation. If you have a regular PC, you’ll want the PowerPoint presentation. If you have a Mac, you’ll want the Keynote presentation.

The video clips in this presentation will show the rugged nature of the Judean Wilderness, the land that stretched from Bethlehem to the Dead Sea. David knew the harsh environment of the wilderness, and he certainly knew where to find the fresh water of En Gedi. The water falls of En Gedi provide an oasis of matchless beauty and immediately explain why David hid there. You can almost picture David camping, hunting, and swimming in En Gedi!

A brief lesson in Hebrew adds the finishing touch, for this was the “living water” Jesus would use as an illustration centuries later with a woman he met at a Samaritan well.

You’ll find all you need to prepare your own sermon or lesson already included in this package. You’ll have preparation notes, links to instructional videos, presentation notes and even Bible study handouts. You can change the PowerPoint or Keynote presentations to suit your needs. You can edit the Bible study handouts or create your own with the extra photos we’ve provided.

It’s all here, ready for you to “bring Israel” to your audience!
